Maria's Bookshop located in the heart of historic downtown Durango Colorado is a general interest independently owned and operated bookstore committed to serving our community since 1984. We are staffed by 14 friendly well-read knowledgeable booksellers who love helping our customers find just the right book.

The store was founded by Dusty Teal (a great Western name if ever there was one!) and is now owned by Andrea Avantaggio and Peter Schertz. Peter and Andrea and their entire staff are dedicated to creating and maintaining a vital thriving independent business that gives the people of Durango and the surrounding Four Corners region a comfortable engaging beautiful place to visit relax and shop.
